Paul Dumbrell has paid a visit to his new V8 Supercar team – Ford Performance Racing.
Spy photos were published by a sneaky snapper on social networking site Twitter yesterday of Dumbrell and team owner Rod Nash meeting with FPR team principal Tim Edwards, all-but signifying Dumbrell’s intention to join the factory Ford squad in 2010 – first reported on Speedcafe (Monday, Nov 2).
Speedcafe understands that a statement will be released today confirming Dumbrell’s departure from Walkinshaw Racing at the end of this season.
Dumbrell and Nash were taken for a guided tour of the Campbellfield, Victoria, facility, with Dumbrell getting an early seat-fitting.
The 27-year-old has driven the Autobarn Commodore VE for the Holden team for the past two season. He is set to steer the #55 The Bottle-O Racing Ford Falcon FG next year, run under the RNR entry and prepared by FPR.
Dumbrell will celebrate his 100th V8 Supercar start at next weekend’s round of the Championship Series at Barbagallo Raceway.
